The University of Oregon in Eugene will play host to our festival this year. We are most excited to be in the land of the Duck!! This year, the festival is a walking festival, so bring your umbrella, waterproof shoes and jacket, some layers and a sunshine(y) disposition.

Now in our 8th year, this evening celebrates the many outstanding Associate productions presented throughout the region in 2017! Selected scenes are presented in a non-competitive showcase of talent. This year's impressive line-up includes mask work, student written works, signing, a fight scene with foils, musical pieces, and physical comedy, as well as a special spotlight performance presented by the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Come celebrate day one of festival at this exciting event!

Solo actress Anu Yadav weaves a tale of nine-year-old Meena who wishes her mother could afford the medicine she needs, and Hindu God Lord Krishna who pleads for Meena's help in his war against the Worry Machine. Meena's Dream creates a fantastical world through storytelling and live music, from South Indian classical to indie folk. With music by Anjna Swaminathan, Rajna Swaminathan, and Sam McCormally.
The show is appoximately 50 minutes and there will be short talkback after the show

Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions Round Two- A maximum of five minutes in the regional semifinal round to perform the preliminary round scene AND a contrasting two-person scene (which may or may not incorporate singing) using the same partner for both scenes.
Musical Theatre Scholarship Auditions - Final Round - each Student will have 5 minutes to perform 2 contrasting songs the Finalist are: Round one – 2:00pm
Each of the 6 SDC finalists will have twenty minutes to rehearse their scene in the space prior to the final round. Only the scene director, cast, and teacher/mentor are allowed in the room.
Audition to be one of 60 students selected to spend a week in NYC working one-on-one with Broadway’s best professionals at The Open Jar Institute during the summer of 2018. Work with Tony Winners Susan Stroman, Lynn Ahrens, Joanna Gleason and many more Broadway professionals. Come ready to learn a dance and bring 32-bar cut to sing. One auditioning student will be selected to receive a $600 scholarship or $200 cash prize!
